The iconic wine, food and music festival, Grampians Grape Escape, is returning with a bang this year after a 2-year hiatus, offering a long weekend of world-class wines, gourmet food and live music nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Mount William.
Grampians Grape Escape prides itself on being a family friendly event, and this year is no different with a suite of activities for children to enjoy.
Families can head to the David O Jones Mitre 10 Little Adventurers’ Precinct and enjoy herb and flower planting, a rock climbing wall and The Dreaming Space circus performances which include a Kazaam Magic Show and Kids Cabaret.
The Halls Gap Zoo will also be running a colouring competition over the weekend where kids can make and decorate face masks as they walk around the zoo pretending to be their favourite animal.
Throughout the alleys around the festival, there are stop and play stations, giving kids the opportunity to take a break from following the adults and playing a game of mini-golf, Bean Bag Toss, Quoits and many more.
A non-for-profit festival, Grampians Grape Escape has spotlighted the region’s producers and makers for the best part of 30 years and this year will welcome visitors for an extended celebration over 3 days from Friday 29th April to Sunday 1st May. After a difficult 2 years, it’s a perfect opportunity to support over 100 exhibitors from Western Victoria and celebrate the return of live music.
Kicking off with the festival’s first ever Feel-Good Friday, visitors can start the weekend with an afternoon snack from a selection of food trucks, enjoy a local drop from the bar and dust off those dancing shoes with sets from Purple Revolution, Andrew De Silva’s beloved Prince tribute band and Mixtape’s 80s covers.
Saturday and Sunday will be a foodie’s playground with a mouth-watering array of stalls serving up everything from mouth-watering burgers, flavour packed Spanish paella and festival favourite pizza.
Cooking demonstrations from guest chefs Geoff Jansz and Emmylou MacCarthy will showcase local produce from the region, while culinary masterclasses from expert exhibitors covering everything from insect hotels, bread making and fishing adventures aim to inspire attendees to whip up their own gourmet feasts at home.
